				Interview - Popova Yana

	<< Back to				Corr.: When did you start writing and singing Christian songs? Y.P.: I always had desire to sing Christian songs and I'm sure it is from the Lord. O.L.: I started writing Christian songs at 14. It just came by itself. Corr.: How do you usually write your songs? O.L.: I liked writing music and wanted my music to become alive - I was looking for words. So, the songs were created and that brought me pleasure and joy. I write for my sister Yana. My songs are inspired by God. I hardly can write them by order, so I try to avoid that. I prefer free creative work. Y.P.: And we perform these songs together. Corr.: What does music mean to you? Y.P.: I believe musical ministry is of a great importance in Christianity, it affects the listeners greatly. Music can bring sinners to Jesus, strengthen Christians in their walk, comfort sorrowful ones, inspire us for God's work. I thank God for the abilities he's given me and for the opportunity to use them for his work. We put a great desire and enthusiasm into our songs, and every concert brings us joy as we can share God's love again and again. Î.Ë.: Music brings me into God's presence. Through music I express my feelings to God and my neighbours. Corr.: Whom do you address your songs to? Y.P.: Different people like our songs but mainly they are addressed to unbelievers. O.L.: Our songs are mainly aimed at young people but also there are older people who like them. Corr.: Where do you usually give your concerts? Y.P.: We don't have big concerts but we do perform our songs at church services and youth meetings. Corr.: Would you tell us about yourselves and your plans? Y.P.: I'm 21, born in Voronezh where I live till now. I'm married, have a daughter. From my early years I attend a Baptist church. Sing in a choir. I am a church member since 1993. In 1997 graduated from Voronezh Musical College, a conducting/choir department. For last years I perform songs written by my sister Olesia. In 1998 we released our album I will remember forever which consists of 10 songs. Now we already have songs for a new album but have no opportunity for releasing it yet. I dream of shooting a clip. O.L.: I was born in 1980. Single. Now I am a forth-year student of the Musical College, study piano. I plan to master a computer so that I might make phonogramms for my songs. I want my songs to make people think of life, love, death, their relations with eternal God.
	Miracles Later some of them admitted that our songs helped them to come through a difficult time in their lives. Performers Her mother taught her singing and she appreciates that.
