Q: What influence did your conversion to the Living God have on your creative work? V.K.: I started writing and performing Christian music starting from the first year after my repentance, when I played in a worship group in one of the churches of the city of Zaporozhye. We played old pentecostal songs and new American church songs translated from English. This induced me to write songs, for every nation has its own mentality and culture. I understood that every nation has to "give birth" to its own praise to God and not copy someone else. Q: People know and sing your songs all around the world: in the USA, in Israel, in many countries with Christian culture. How does God lead you in your work today? V.K.: Now I'm half of an acoustic duo "Strangers," along with Alexey Semenchuk. At concerts we play guitar or perform with a backing track. We also have solo songs in which each of us tells about his personal relationships with God. Our project is aimed at widening and drawing other musicians for large scale concerts, festivals, and music shows. But for now the form of duet is the most mobile and helpful to us, it gives us an opportunity to prepare a base for further development. Q: What do you speak about in your songs? Is there anything personal? V.K.: Our joint creative work is based mostly on songs that I wrote in different periods of my Christian life, reflecting almost all of its aspects. There are songs of praise and worship to God, songs of personal testimony, songs of evangelism and prophecy. There are also some songs that reflect my personal feelings. Q: What does music mean to you? V.K.: Music for me is a means to fill with the Holy Spirit and reach people's hearts with the Good News. Q: What audience do you write your songs for? V.K.: I am trying to write songs for all categories of people. I think that real and anointed songs have no limitations by age or by any other criterium. Though at live concerts I take into account the age of the audience and choose my repertoire accordingly. Q: Where do you give your concerts? V.K.: In very different places - from train compartments to squares and stadiums. We try to serve and sing both to believers and to those who don't know God yet. Q: What is your most cherished wish? V.K.: My main and most cherished wish is to see Ukraine become a prosperous Christian country where most TV, radio and concert programs would be filled with God's light, joy, and love. And I am ready to serve for it.
