1. In 1994 my brother and I transported 4000 copies of Bible from Minsk to Perm. God helped us and showed His miracle such a way that we managed to put all these Bibles in one compartment. Guides from all the train came to see how we managed to do it and it was difficult for us to understand how we managed to put all the books in one compartment. But we prayed and God worked a miracle. We unloaded all the bibles in Moscow and we had so many bibles that we could put all of them in half of the railway carriage. Another miracle took place in Moscow – guys from a protection racket band that controls the railway station and demands a tribute from the goods bought for us tickets to Perm and helped us to load the bibles to the luggage van.
Nothing is impossible for God.

2. Due to God’s help and intensive work a new album called «On the other bank» was born, and in Germany working on it was completely finished. With the new project I was forced to participate in a chain of great evangelizations in Germany. After that, having come home I was forced to fly on a missionary trip to Chukotka. We stayed there since December till February, having returned recently.

The group of 5 missionaries flew to the national villages of Chukotka from Moscow Flight «Moscow-Pevek» on the 17th of December 2002 at the invitation of Pevek city to work with children and teenagers. The members of the group were:
1. Petr Yarotsky, member of the church «Light to the World», Kishinyev
2. Vyacheslav Odazhiu, member of the church «Vefil», Kishinyev
3. Àlexander Belev, member of the church «Source of Life», Kishinyev
4. Vyacheslav Grin, missionary – evangelist, member of the church, Pevek.
5. Valyeriya Grin, member of the church, Pevek.
The city of Pevek is the most northern city in Russa. It’s situated on the shore of the Arctic Ocean, in Chaunskaya bay. The city of Pevek is closed for foreigners. We are citizens of Moldova and Ukraine and we needed invitations and visas to get there. Our church from Pevek applied to the Chukotka administration in three-months time before we come. The church got permission for the arrival of the band. We got that permission from frontier guards and migration service. But eventually FSB of Russia instead of giving permission they told “the answer will be tomorrow”. All of that was like that for 1,5 months. Having flown to Pevek without all the documents for staying there, we got the permission to leave the city on the first airplane. Having found out that the next plane will fly in a week time to the city of Bilibino, we called the pastor of the church of Bilibino and decided to go to them, because we don’t want to return home having done nothing in evagelazation. We prayed much and asked God to bless our staying in Chukotka, and to use us in His own will.
One of the purposes of our staying in Chukotka was the organization of the children camp during winter holidays – starting from 23.12.02 till 10.01.03. We wanted to organize it in the city of Pevek in the village of Yanranay, and on the islands of Ayon and Bilinsk, and it was difficult for us to understand that our plans had changed and we’d go to the unknown till this day city of Bilibino. We didn’t understand, why everything happened like that. We asked ourselves many questions but we didn’t have another choice and we relied on God completely.
Bilibino – is a city situated 500 km from Pevek and we knew that there was a nuclear station there providing electric energy to all the Chukotka region. Having left the plane we felt real Chukotka frost - 47°Ñ. The next day our brothers with us went along all the city and glued small invitations to Christmas meetings for children from 16 and for young people from 19. We glued them on road posts, shops everywhere. There is one protestant church in Bilibino –Pentecostals. They allowed us to have our meetings in their Prayer House, and they actively invited children and young people to these meetings. Due to the aggressive politics of the local priest who through mass media attacked protestants, citizens of Bilibino had prepossession to protestant church. On this basis, there wasn’t any answer to our invitations and we have chosen another approach. We went to the orphanage and after long talks and discussion the orphanage director agreed to allow us to conduct a meeting in this orphanage. 52 orphans live in this orphanage. God blessed us and children and administration accepted our program! We had a puppet show, games, quizzes, songs, and a Biblical Christmas lesson. After this meeting children showed us their rooms and gave us their pictures. Educators and director were grateful to us, and we were grateful to God. Consequently the director of this orphanage called all the other children establishments in Bilibino and told them about us. On the 6th and 7th of January we had 2 evangelizing services for unbelievers and young people.
While staying in Bilibino, we tried to make legal our staying in Chukotka in spite of all bureaucratic difficulties that were confirmed after disappearing of the Soviet Union. These bureaucratic difficulties were like ever frost in Chukotka. We managed to get a temporary registration. While coming to the offices and having meetings with authorities, we told them about the goals we have to go Chukotka with. It turned out that we didn’t have any rights to stay in Bilibino, because this city was closed for foreigners. But, thanks God, He gave me necessary words for conversations. In such a case the directors of the passport office and frontier guards and visa staff helped us much. They called to Anadir (the capital of Chukotka) about the petition for us. All of that happened during holidays that are usually off-days. On these days Russian people relax in a special way. All the offices were closed, and we had to catch all the officials one by one. The strangest thing was the thing that we had to find all the documents that we’re not HIV carriers. The control blood test is taken only on Wednesdays, and it’s ready in two week time, excluding holidays. After the conversation with the central laboratory physician-in-chief the next morning we had the results of the blood tests. When we came to the passport office officials just didn’t believe their eyes. They decided not to oppose us any more and gave us all the necessary documents. They told us, that this registration allows us to stay on the territory of all the Chukotka autonomous area.
We were happy about that and on the 09.01.03 we flew to Pevek. But we were happy only while flying. When we flew to Pevek we were said that in Pevek in Chaunskiy region only Russian laws are in force. That meant that all the time and the main part of finances we wasted in vain. The only thing that helped us was that the chief frontier guard gave us a written permission for the arrival to Pevek for the subsequent registration. «Our song is good, start from the very beginning»!
We gave all the documents for the temporary registration and even having waited for the result went to the national village Yanranay, where our brother Maxim Grin and his wife and their children live, Nikita is 3,5, and Philip is 8 months old. This village is 65 km from Pevek. In 2000 the group of missionaries from Kishenev visited this village and organized a Christian children youth camp. It was the first signal of the Good News for the citizens of the village. Approximately 200-250 people live there because somebody arrives and leaves the village all the time. Half a year ago our brother Maxim Grin with his family came from Kishenev at the invitation of Petr Litnevsky who is the pastor of the church in Pevek. They started to work in a village together with their children. There is a school in a village. Maxim has a higher education and he stared working at this school. Besides his three positions at school and her wife with him work in a Sunday school. Children in a school love them because other teachers don’t pay attention to them. Besides children ministry there is a church. There are 8 ministers in it and the congregation. Of course it’s not many people but for a village of 200 people it’s quite large.
In the village Yanranay we asked the chief administration officer to allow us to give a Christian music concert for the citizens of the village in the club. And we had the answer: «we’d give the club if you don’t tell and sing anything about God». It became clearer, it was a refusal, and we decided to give the concert in our small church despite it’s small. We invited people there. Maxim is an authority in the village and when we went from one flat to another nobody refused the invitation except the chief administration officer, her relatives and friends. The meeting took place in a very friendly atmosphere. We believe that the seeds we sowed will bear fruit for eternity. After these meetings and after our staying in the village the chief administration officer filed a complaint against us to the administration of Chaunsky district. This chief officer asked to direct measures against Maxim Grin and me. And Maxim was fired because his contract was terminated. Administartion is not going to prolong the contact with him for perspicuous reasons. Maxim was ordered to leave Chukotka because it’s impossible to get registration without a contract.
We have conducted our ministry in this village for one week. Children stayed with us all day long. Besides children service we had a meeting with young people. It was a pleasure for us to see that God is rising what we sowed someday. Young people remember all the songs they sang in 2000. They have a lot of questions. They shared with us blessings they experienced, they shared failures and lessons they learned from them. Their simplicity, openness and a blank sheet impressed us. They were not spoiled by the benefits of this civilization. Young people after 8 classes study in Pevek. Later we met with them every evening in the church in Pevek.
Due to God two young ladies repented sincerely. Guys from Yanranay testified about their sincere desire to be honest with God and we’re happy about that.
After returning to Pevek we found out about good news: we were given registration, but we were refused to be given a club for evangelization. Director of the club addressed us to the administration, but we din’t obey and didn’t go anywhere. God gave us a possibility to work with children and with young people in the following way: Peter Litnevsky, pastor of the church of Pevek, he works as a teacher and educator in the children center «Fairy-tale». This center is a terminal, i.e. all year around children and youth from Chukotka go to the camps, sanatoriums and educational establishments through Pevek and this terminal. It was a place where God gave us a possibility to meet young people from Bilibino. They were wonderful evenings with games, questions, answers, songs, and conversations. These meetings lasted till midnight and even till morning. We believe that God will grow the seeds we sowed in these hearts.
God gave us a possibility to visit in the biggest gold-mining enterprise called «Chukotka» in the village Komsomolsky. It’s 150 km from Pevek. None believer visited this city before. People from all the CIS work there, generally men work. They work for 12 hours without weekends. A lot of them work such a way for 15-20 years. Administration of the gold-mining enterprise gave us a kind reception. This enterprise is a small country with its own laws. That’s why there were not any obstacles to our arrival. We lived in the hotel, and the issue about the club was solved. The manager was solving our issues for 20 minutes. Maintenance crew was sent to that club because this club wasn’t used for 5-6 years. In the evening at 21:00 it was a sauna day in the village and there are two sauna days for a week and we knew what it meant for the workers and despite of that club was full. We gave a Christian music concert there, and there were short testimonies between the songs. Our program lasted for an hour and a half, and we finished this program only because we saw and understood how tired people are after such difficult work. We distributed Gospels, and we both wished to see each other more often. Brothers who minister in Pevek opened new spheres of ministry for themselves.
Our returning was a miracle as well. Planes are the only kind of transport in Pevek, planes fly not very often and nor regularly. The next flight was on the 17th of February. A lot of depends on weather, and the freight plane Il-76 flew to Pevek unexpectedly, it brought the «vital » and callable cargo for Chukotka – «strong drinks, vodka», packed in bottles. Alcoholism – is a great problem for people who live in the North. And in this facts are seen deliberate actions of the administration of the area. They offer people nothing except vodka. And now it’s easy to understand the reason why local authorities show irritation and negativism towards believers and God.
We decided to try to leave Chukotka on this plane. But as it was a charter flight and a freight plane pilots agreed to take only two people on the plane – Slavik Odazhiu and me. Having entered the plane, we hoped to lie on the armchairs (even on not very soft armchairs) but there were not armchairs in that plane. In a saloon which is like 4 euro tracks all together, temperature was - 40?Ñ. We were offered to sit where we felt ourselves comfortable!!!!!!!!! But the worst thing was that it was uncomfortable everywhere especially with such a temperature!!! Despite the fact that pilots were providers of the “vital” cargo with vodka, but they were tasters of vodka as well we took off with prayers quite safely. After such a flight we forgot about such things like, «fasten the belts!». In 4 hours the temperature in a plane saloon rose to + 5?Ñ. All the flight, taking in to account the top-up of the plane lasted for 12 hours. Then we landed in Vnukovo in Moscow safely. Our missionary trip was over like that. In this trip we learned how to trust God more and how to plan less....
Proverbs.19:21 « 21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand ».
