Corr.: How do you write your songs? Answer: Generally “in the beginning was the Word”. I use the poems written by Russian classics and modern poets: Yakova Buzinnogo, Veri Kushnir, Sergeya Sokolenko. And I wrote 16 songs by myself for a group of praise. The fact is that Holy Spirit, Who lives in humans’ souls, sees our wishes and gives us the necessary thoughts and feelings, which transform into great poems. But I use someone’s poems more often and the music comes into my mind by inspirations. Generally I wrote music for 150 songs and all the music was written like God Himself had dictated me it. I wrote music for one song not more than 5 minutes. At first I wrote the poems than took the guitar and started singing. Some poems for the songs were made to order, generally, for children’s Christian camps. Children asked me – «Peter, we need a song about a crow!» I take a pen, the guitar, then pray, and – in 15-20 minutes – a song and the poems to children’s order are ready! Corr.: Where do you perform? Answer: At sport and culture centers, in churches, in prisons, in youth clubs, everywhere where gospel activities take place. I like to spend time in small groups of young believers. I like to visit camps for emigrants from the CIS to Germany because I find warm and open atmosphere there. Corr.: What does music mean for you? Answer: It’s not easy to give one answer. It’s praise for God and life itself. There is such a verse in the Bible: «Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks». When Paul and Silas were bitten in the prison they didn't stop singing and if they had musical instruments I think they would play them as well. It’s very important for me that music isn’t only enjoyment or show. In my songs I try to bring people the Word with salt. We have a possibility to play modern music like rap, jazz-rock, heavy metal but I don’t think we need it. Will God be praised through this music or will only music itself be praised? Everything should be considered in God ways. That’s my opinion. Corr: How did you meet Christ? Answer: As it was said above I was born and was brought up in a Christian family. I heard about God from the early childhood, I went to church. But Christianity can’t be inherited; there were mistakes in my life, although I decided to follow Christ. It was difficult to overcome that moment, to fell the edge, but I had such a moment at the youth meeting in 1977. God knocked at my heart and I felt the necessity for receiving Him as my personal Savior. I saw that I was a sinner who was in hothouse conditions and then I repented. I had difficult minutes in my life. But God taught me and showed me the right way. I’m thankful to Him for everything. Once I was forced to live four years in prison and I was rehabilitated because they thought that I didn’t commit any crime at all. But I’m thankful to God that He used me in many ways for His Glory in Perm area prisons and in Bushkiriya in 1992-1994. I’m thankful to God for His love to me. He gave me a wonderful companion – my wife Zhanna and wonderful children, He gave me a great church «Light for the world». He gave me eternal life and gives me a possibility to praise Him. Corr.: Tell me please about your family and friends. Answer: I have a wife – Zhannochka, a daughter – Yanochka, she’s 10, a son – Arturchick, she’s 6, a son – Ernest, he’s 5. I have many friends and the greatest happiness for me is that I have a lot of brothers and sisters all over the world, I can’t count all of them. My best friend – Jesus and all His children – my brothers and sisters. I have some friends who didn’t know Jesus Christ as their own Savior. I pray for them, they’re professional musicians – Leonid Borisov, Vladimir Bateshko, a sound director of the studio «Heart’s music» Igor Manzyak, and a lot of others. Corr.: What are your plans for the future? Answer: My plans are – to open the rehabilitation center, a radio station, an audio-studio, Internet cafe, and I’m looking for a possibility to record the songs given me by God. I plan and God blesses my plans as much as He wants and when He wants. I thank God for the given possibility to bring to people the message about His love. I wish everybody peace, love and happiness.
