I was born December 6, 1967. In my childhood I attended music-choral studio, played in folk instruments orchestra, later in a dance orchestra. Having finished the music school I entered a music college, which I dropped out from because of conflicts with the teachers and overself-esteem. I played keyboard instruments and guitar, wrote some songs, made some arrangements. Sometime later I created my own group, with which we made many concert tours. In the middle of 1990's I founded "Rock-Symposium", where I gathered all of the city's rock musicians. Later I and all my musicians were hired to work in American Football Club. Then some internal problems arose, so I left. There was another artistic project: companion, who was writing lyrics and a professional rock group. We were planning to record some songs in a producer center and make some promotion for the project. But fortunately my life veered completely round. The Lord made the difference, and showed me that any art which is not dedicated to Him and is not enlightened by His grace is futile and useless. In May of 1996 He revealed Himself to me. I accepted music ministry in a Baptist church of Ozersk city. I 1999 we recorded an audiotape with 12 youth songs: "New Song of Praise". Ladies' parts were recorded by Marina, wife of my cousin, the one that witnessed to me and I got saved. Later she participated in recording of my solo album "CREDO" ("I Trust"). I'm married and raising a son. A song "The Holy Family" was recorded in a few minutes on occasion of one young Christian's baptism, who was about to go to the army. He asked the pastor to baptize him and the baptismal was administered. It was in May. The temperature of water was about 10°C. So the first performance of a song was made there. The song's name was "The Best Friend". I was sitting in the kitchen with a guitar, browsing a book of poems "Christian Harp". Several times I scanned a poem of O. Kovaleva "The Best Friend". And somehow suddenly I fixed upon it, took the guitar and the tune went on. The Holy Spirit so much thawed my heart by the text and music, so that I burst into tears, until I finished setting music to words. So a simple but very beautiful tune came off, and there was no need for adding a chorus or modulating. Then I forgot the tune out and away, I was sad and prayed for a few days trying to recallect it. And the Lord let me recall the exact tune - note-by-note. Praise God! A song "Cheer Up", words by N. Tsunenko. By and large I love Ukrainian culture very much. I used to be a great friend of musicians from the city of Belaya Tserkov, Kiev region. Many times I visited them. The folks delighted me with fun, enthusiasm and temper. Therefore, rather intuitively, I decided that the text of Ukrainian author should be sung though in a minor key (because it tells about hardships in a Christian's life), but sprightly and optimistically. This is one of the first songs written for this album.
