Workers of the Interconfessional Charity Center "Agape" from Nizhny Novgorod greet you with love! Our Center was founded in 1992; our goal is to help those seeking God. We wish all people to get to know his love and power. We are trying to contribute to the work of spreading the Gospel in Russia. We want to help all believers to live in fellowship and unity, to grow spiritually and to lead a full-fleshed life in a Christian church. Relationships built on mutual love and service to each other is a guideline for our living. With God's help, we come to the poor of our city to show them God's love, to give them hope, and to provide them with concrete help. This is not just words. Within next several years, thousands of local people received help with clothes and food through our social service. We also provided alcoholics and their relatives with medical help. Our music group gave charity concerts in schools, universities and prisons of our city. Every year we conduct youth training projects, seminars, worshiping God and presenting various programs for the Christian youth. We believe that our work will help our country spiritually revive, and many people will open their hearts toward love that God gives us. And this process shall eventually make quality changes in Russian society. Four years ago our leader and friend Roland Kurt came up with an idea to create a music group which would tell the youth about Jesus and his love through their songs. It happened in January, 1996. Sergey Tikhomirov and Yelena Kolesova became leaders of the group. In two and a half months, on the 16th of March 1996, the group "Agape" gave its first concert against drugs. At that time there were 8 people in the group. In the beginning we played primarily computer music, performing Russian versions of popular foreign Christian artists. Before they came to Christ, many participants of our group were professionally involved in music and wrote songs. Eventually we started writing and performing Christian songs. Sergey Tikhomirov - leader of the group "Agape," a wonderful musician, sound engineer, arranger, and composer. He is a father of a family with four children who play keyboards and do background singing. Yelena Kolesova - leader of the music group "Agape," administrator, MC, leader of the dancing group, singer. Gennady Chavdar - a wonderful and responsive man, a father of three beautiful kids. He plays drums, is responsible for the technical part of our performance, and is one of background singers. Alexey Malchenkov - a generator of new ideas, a gifted composer, author of songs, and arranger. In the group, he is a singer, plays keyboard instruments and acoustic guitar. Denis Sayetov - a man full of energy; a singer. Alexey Beloselsky - bass guitar. Alexey Okhlopkov - solo guitar. Seven girls are dancing in our dancing group: Olga Illyina, Nataliya Sobina, Liana Mileyka, Svetlana Shabanova, Yulia Adrianova, Yulia Khomutova, and Yelena Titanova. All members of the group love God and attend different churches of Nizhny Novgorod, being involved in various ministries. Loving God, being a member of such a great team, and serving people is so cool! We are all very happy about living such a life..
