Oleg Usikov is solo guitar player, arranger and leader of the group. He has been learning techniques of guitar playing, arrangement and orchestration for modern music, jazz, and "fusion" for five years, on his own. Oleg is 28 years old, unmarried, has an elementary music education. He received Christ in 1992. He considers "The Garden of Gethsemane" to be the only interesting part of his creative work, for all of his previous projects had a very low professional level. Alexander Zbrodsky plays bass guitar, and was born on March 10, 1977. Alexander became a Christian in September 1995 and joined the group in 1996. In 1995, he entered the variety department of a music school. Before he became a musician, Alexander had graduated from a vocational school. He is unmarried. Igor Malitsky was born on May 17, 1979, has a secondary education, and is unmarried. Vlad Malitsky was born on December 27, 1975, has a secondary education, and is unmarried. He previously played music, but not seriously. Roman Vaschuk was born on February 11, 1978, in Kiev, graduated from secondary and music schools. Roman is currently a student in a 4-year program in the music and pedagogical department at university. Leonid Shobovtas was born in 1952, and graduated from Kishinev music school. Leonid has a wife Tatyana and daughter Karina. He used to work in a circus orchestra and in a Kiev variety orchestra; is currently working for a state symphony orchestra and with the group "The Garden of Gethsemane." The group was formed in 1995. Music performed by "The Garden of Gethsemane" represents different styles, serious modern harmonies are coupled with original, improvizational melody lines. All members of the group are ministers of the evangelical church "Grace"and are members of the worship group, and two of them lead Bible studies for the youth. The album "Like Snow" was recorded by "The Garden of Gethsemane" in January, 1997. For the most part this album consists of songs of praise. (Arrangement by Oleg Usikov.) Right now our group is recording a new album under the working title "Road to Hell." This will be a purely evangelistic album, it will be marked by a completely different style and level of performance than our first album.
