I am 23 but I was in such precipice while using drugs. I was born in Kiev in one ordinary family: mother, father, brother and sister. And as it usually happens in “sound” families my parents divorced when I studied at school. When I was 15 I got acquainted with one girl and once we tried drugs in pills. Sometimes I smoke that drugs but when she left me I began using drugs regularly. At that period I began playing guitar and writing songs. Once I met one guy who was playing drums. He offered me to create a group because he had an opportunity to use school instruments while rehearsing. All my time I spent on the rehearsals. We played, sang, composed music and used different drugs, we even sniffed up glue. It was very interesting at first, but soon hatred appeared to everything on this world. We understood that it was the thing that prevented us from living. We wanted to put an end with that but we couldn’t. I began smoking a lot, tried to give up sniffing up the glue, using pills. But then we decided to buy drugs together with friends again. “That is what I have been looking for all my life”- were my first words after the injection. It seemed that life gained a sense. Every day we had been looking for drugs. At first we did everything together but then we began avoiding each other. We forgot about music because drugs were the sense of our whole life. I didn’t life at home. I was invited to sing in a group where all musicians were drug addicts. Our co-work lasted not long. Now these guys are in prison. Soon I understood that life had lost its sense. My friends who were drug addicts began to die: one because of the overdosage, the other were killed because of drugs. I was afraid to live; I wanted something light and good. I fell in depression. I wanted to change everything. Once I made a decision to stop using drugs. I closed in my room and began reading everything that could help me as I thought. Suddenly I was a Bible and a brochure, where a prayer “Our Father” had been written. While reading Bible I understood that God existed. I began to pray and to call for Him, to ask Him to change my life. And God answered me. Late in the evening my friend who had been using drugs for 6 years called me. The next morning I came to the rehabilitation centre “Love”, where I repented and accepted Jesus in my life. I felt God’s presence. Love filled me; I talked to Him and even was afraid to eat because an amazing taste of God was on my lips. That was my real birthday. I understood that I hadn’t been living till that moment. God became a sense of my life. Every second I felt that He was with me. God revealed my calling. I know that I will spread God’s Kingdom by means of music. God gives me song from heaven. I have a firm foundation. I will do everything with God and I will fulfill my calling.
