Jesus taught that one had not only to listen
to his words, but also to put them into practice. This is what his parable
of the wise and foolish builders is about. You can read this parable
in Matthew 7:24-27. |
 |
There is a man who comes to
Jesus, listens to his words, and does what Jesus says. Who can we compare
this man with? |
|
– This man is like a builder who dug deep and
laid a solid foundation on the rock. When the flood came and the water
came down, the house did not fall, because it had its foundation on the
rock. |
|
– The one who listens to the words of Jesus,
but do not practice them can be compared with a man who built his house
on sand, with no sound. When the rain came down and the winds blew against
that house, it fell with a great crash. |
