| Once in America, I (Alexander Patlis) and Igor Kopylov went shopping
for some jeans. All of a sudden we heard screams. A woman screamed, "Michael!
Michael!" First I thought that a child got lost. But when we came closer
I saw a small boy, about a year and a half old. His father was shaking
him, repeating again and again, "Michael! Michael!" But the boy wasn't
breathing. It was terrible, a minute ago the child was alive, but now he
was like a doll stuffed with straw, you shake him, but he shows no reaction.
Someone said, "Call 911!" At that moment I was staggered with what Igor
did, I was struck by his courage. He said, "I will pray for him," laid
his hands on the child's head, said, "In Jesus' name" and started praying
for him. I came closer and also started to pray to God that he would bring
the child back to life. Then Igor took his hand off and we stood aside,
still asking God for a miracle. In 3 or 4 minutes the boy started breathing.
He opened his eyes, and when the medics came he was conscious already.
I think that his parents and other people at the shop heard whose name
was pronounced, whom we prayed to. I think they will remember this case
as well as we do. And I am sure that God can work in every place, because
that day I saw that when we make a decision and with faith and courage
use Christ's name in a time of need, God just comes to us and answers our
prayer. He helps. It was a very strong impression for me. Jesus Christ
is alive, and he acts! |
