Corr.: Please, tell about how you found God.

Answer: It happened during an evangelical conference called «Ural-94». I went there reluctantly. But it was amazing! Outwardly everything was very quiet and calm. No pomposity. Christian concerts weren’t like any other professional concert, even vice versa; there was humbleness and self-distrust. Sometimes it seemed that not only knees were shaking but other parts of the body as well. And in everything one could feel gracefulness, peace and warmth. Some time later, after a few years, I understood what the believers are strong with. He is strong with His God. The believer goes to work for His God. Later I found out the secret of a happy person. Not a person who had graduated from a prestigious university and now has a bright perspective for his future. I knew how to become a person with spirit, good moral principals and a clear aim for life. Anyone in the world can possess these things if he “dissolves” his life in God’s. One apostle said: «I can do all things through Christ who strengths me». This is the formula for success! But an even more surprising thing, was the fact that all earthly things I considered hopeful and meaningful lost their meaning for me. I realized that if you look at the sky and it pleases and does not hurt you, all the other things couldn’t compare with the object of your admiration! In comparison with my short human life, the sun lives forever. But the Sun is the star, as everything in the Universe, of course. If there is a burning light of God’s love in my heart due to God’s Son, this light will last forever. This light, illuminates all the darkness of the human spirit and soul!

Corr.: When and how did you decide to create and perform Christian music?

Answer: One believer , a woman, encouraged me to mke this decision in 1995. If I have a musical education I have to praise the Lord with it, she said. And I started to give heed to the idea.

Corr.: Do you plan to gather a band for performances?

Answer: Not yet, but my sister Natasha sings with me and sometimes helps creatively. She writes music as well.

Corr.: How do you write your songs?

Answer: Very often it happens like this: I feel like writing, I take my guitar and pray to God to fill my heart, soul and mind with His harmony. So it happens like that. And moreover the more close and meaningful my relationships with God is, the more effective this process is. After that I type everything on the computer.

Corr.: What does music mean for you?

Answer: For me it is the voice of my soul.

Corr.: What audience do you sing for?

Answer: I think for middle age people. But there is positive feedback from people of 12 years old and 60 years old. In any case I want the people of all ages to listen to my songs. But people have different tastes and there are so many singers in the world.

Corr.: Where do you give your concerts?

Answer: I don’t have many. Generally I give concerts in places where I can support a local church or help build a new church.

Corr.: Tell about yourself in detail, please.

Answer: Nowadays, I’m a minister in the local ECB church "Light of the truth", I’m the youth leader. I write music. I recorded one album «Gospel in lyrics and songs», half of the album consists of famous Christian poets. I was fond of black-and-white photography, and now I’m fond of computer science. I have friends of different ages: from 4 upto 79 years :)

Corr.: How do you usually overcome difficulties and does music help you in this? Can you describe a specific case?

Answer: During my stay in the Army I was depressed. And then, once I remembered the extracts of one Christian song. The effect was stunning! And everything changed! All the minor thoughts changed into major ones! The song was filled with the Heavenly Promise about eternal life with the Heavenly King. This song spoke about the victory over death and hell. It was about the greatest event in the universe - about the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Corr.: What is your attitude to the modern music world? What minuses and pluses can you see?

Answer: If I talk about the Christian music world, of course, its very positive. I have some thoughts about that. Firstly, Christian song is supposed to be a source of spirituality, giving the listener confidence in God. Unfortunately some songs are denuded of spirituality. It turns out that that the song looks like a Barbie doll. Beautiful but without soul, and not alive. I’m not talking about the styles, I’m talking about the words and the way of performing them. The singer has to feel the things he sings about, otherwise that high purpose won’t be attained.
Secondly. The music and word balance isn’t at the correct level, that’s why it’s wasn’t always possible to hear the words.

Corr.: Where can one buy your recordings or where can one listen to them?

Answer: That’s a difficult question at the moment, I record my cassettes onto a tape-recorder that’s why it takes such a long time to make copies.

Corr.: If you could change the world what would you do first?

Answer: I would restore the term “family”. I would do it like God did at the very beginning. Someone said that God worked for the future, and the future of mankind depends on children. You reap what you sow. I agree with that completely.

Corr.: What are your plans for the future?

Answer: I plan to participate actively in the foundation and development of new churches and to strengthen the existing ones through Christian music and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For all of that I find strength in my Lord Jesus Christ.

Corr.: What will you wish our readers and listeners?

Answer: The most necessary thing is to find the meaning of your life. In my opinion the Bible offers us the answer and solves this serious problem for many of us. I don’t say for "everybody", because there are people who think they’re the clever ones that’s why they go their own way. But the Bible says that there are ways that are seem to be straight, but their end is ruination. So let the way to the Kingdom of the beloved God’s Son who died for our sins and was resurrected for our pardon be open for everybody.
